I want to thank all of our team, including our interns from Georgia Tech and USC Upstate, and all of our advisors for helping us get to the stage where we can share our plans with everyone. This is an exciting time.
If you have a science or technology-based venture, if you are a researcher at one of the research universities in our region, or a student who is working to develop a clever idea based on science or technology, we would love to hear from you. Any business venture idea or company that’s more than the napkin with a few lines drawn on it, and is considering raising Angel funding or an A round of capital investment in the next 12 to 18 months, is in the range of our interest to hear from you. If your business has or will have copyrighted patented or trade secret protected intellectual property, if you have formed the company and are getting started to make it happen, or if you are further along the process with customers, proof of concept, working prototypes, or just have story boards for your e-commerce idea, these are interesting to us at the American Technology Venture Lab.
To my friends that have been mentors with other programs, whether you are a successful entrepreneur, a subject matter expert, an angel or a venture capitalist, or a corporate executive, we want to talk to you to see if you would be a fit for our cadre starting on December 1st. Check your calendar, pencil it in so you don’t book something else on top of it. It will also be every eight weeks from that date.
If you are a local successful business leader, or managing a corporate giant in our area, managing philanthropic resources, or have economic development funds not yet allocated for this year or next year, or if you’re just rich and want to be doing something productive with your money, we would like to talk to you about being a sponsor. There are many things we’re doing sponsors could help us fund, and everything is expensive so every sponsor helps us make it happen. Even small amounts contributed by individuals will help us bring high-tech, high-paying jobs to the upstate and surrounding regions. That will be good for the economy for all of us.
