Sponsor Challenge Funding and Schedule Expansion Announced

By Dennis Hayes, Founder of American Technology Venture Lab

Spartanburg, SC – July 16, 2024

Dennis Hayes, founder of the American Technology Venture Lab (ATVL) and developer of the pathbreaking Hayes Smartmodem that led the PC industry in connecting to the early Internet, proudly announces two significant milestones for ATVL.

ATVL: A Regional Resource
ATVL is establishing itself as a vital resource compatible with other entrepreneurial incubators, accelerators, venture studios, and academic programs across the Southeastern US. The initial success of ATVL’s objectives-based mentoring and educational program for scalable science and technology-based start-ups confirms the need for such an initiative based in Upstate South Carolina and highlights ATVL’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the region.

$15,000 Sponsor Challenge Contributions

A combined donation of $15,000 has been generously contributed by three distinguished sponsors:

        •       Tommy Holt, Hardwood Bridge LLC, Spartanburg, SC
        •       Jack McBride, Contec Inc., Spartanburg, SC
        •       Chris Webb, Foresight Augmented Reality, Atlanta, GA

These challenge contributions, each amounting to $5,000, will inspire additional donations from across the region, highlighting the collaborative spirit of fostering technological innovation. Additional sponsors are welcome to contact us directly or contribute via the American Technology Venture Lab website:  https://americantechnologyventurelab.org/donations/

Expansion to Continuous Operating Mode

With new funding, ATVL will transition to a continuous operating mode. This year, we will host five sessions, and starting next year, six sessions approximately eight to nine weeks apart. Each session will welcome new ventures and provide intensive mentorship and support. To graduate from the program, ventures must participate in four sessions, each followed by a sprint of mentoring.
