ATVL Graduating Venture Showcase

Online Presentation

12:00 Noon EST, Friday May 2, 2025

You are invited to celebrate the next group of graduating founders as they present their early-stage science and technology-based ventures that have completed their four sessions of the American Technology Venture Lab and the mentoring sprints which will conclude with this showcase. We want to show our appreciation to our host venue, the Johnson College of Business and Economics at USC Upstate, where we have successfully conducted each of our full-day sessions, where ventures were introduced to the world-class mentors we have assembled that volunteer their time to assist the founders in accomplishing their objectives to prepare their venture for scaling.

Graduating Ventures and their Founders

Border Brain (ATVL Completion following Session and Sprint 6)| Founders: James Chesser, CEO (top) and Chris Kozma, COO (bottom)

VeraVisa® is an international travel app which prepares lawful travelers to the U.S. for what could be one of the most important and stressful moments of their lives: their initial visa interview. Using novel tAI*, this patent-pending SaaS simulates a real-time, life-like interview with colorful avatars in an entertaining and useful way. 12 million underserved annual visitors--families, students, and business people--can safely practice speaking to a pretend consular officer. Language and cultural obstacles become less formidable, and essential rules clearer. VeraVisa scores an applicant's performance in real-time, and offers simple legal analysis following the interview, explaining what each answer means from a consul's perspective and why one answer may lead to new questions.

*transparent AI goes beyond reasoning to meaning, and provides data provenance where other systems falter

iVue (ATVL Completion following Session and Sprint 7)| Founder: Jacob Andrews

iVue is more than a drone company, iVue is being built as an American consumer tech and media company. In the same way people are no longer called car or computer operators today, iVue is on a mission to make the term drone operator synonymous with being human. With a vision to make the world more accessible, minimizing geographical limitations, iVue is focused on maximizing the ways people can interact with the world around them, virtually and physically.

Builder Rocket (ATVL Completion following Session and Sprint 7)| Founder: Doug Henjes

Building a new home is a complicated process and not something that home buyers do on a regular basis. This is uncharted territory for most. Builder Rocket is a platform created for home builders to better communicate the process and selections that will be included in their new home to simplify the process for everyone. Welcome to “Stress Free” home building for everyone.

Tech Pet IQ (ATVL Completion following Session and Sprint 7)| Founder: Tom Ostrowski (top), Maria Richter (middle), and Dr. Christy Belcher (bottom)

At Tech Pet IQ, we believe our pets deserve a voice. They're masters at hiding pain and illness, and too often, we don't realize something's wrong until it's too late. That's why we've created smart technology that quietly monitors their food, water, and behavior — giving you real-time insights to catch early warning signs and keep your pet happy, healthy, and safe. Tech Pet IQ gives pets a way to speak — and gives you the power to listen.

The ATVL Graduating Venture Showcase is hosted by Trey Thies and features the four ventures and their founders shown above. Each venture will have 7 minutes to present their pitch and 7 minutes to answer questions from the audience, then Trey will move onto the next venture founder and repeat the process until completed. Then, we will have a panel discussion between the venture founders, where they will be asked a few questions regarding the experience of their journey through the American Technology Venture Lab objectives-based mentoring and educational program.

Please, feel free to share this invitation with anyone you think would be interested to learn about these graduating ventures or the programs presented by the American Technology Venture Lab.
